Who doesn’t love music? Our whole life is surrounded by music and it’s magic. The first cry of a new born child, the chirping of the birds in the gardens, the flowing of water, the croaking of frog during the monsoon season and the blowing of the wind all make some music which soothes our heart and soul.

Music is a culture loved and cherished by all of us which not just helps us to remain attached with other humans and creatures but also helps us to be connected to the almighty power. It has no bounds, no limitations and is loved by everyone from all around the world.

Any person can be referred as a musician who plays, writes or composes music. A musician can be a self learnt musician or who has learned music in the form of education from an academy or from a guru. There are people who are born with the gift of music while there are others who practice hard regularly to become a well polished and successful musician.

Playing, writing and composing are all different arts that combine together to form a good, melodious and soothing music. Based on these different roles, a musician can be classified into the following categories.

  • Song Writers: Song writers are the people who imagine and write the song in the form of simple words. It is the lyrics of the song along with the music that the people fall in love with. Thus writing good and meaningful lines is the art practiced by the writers.
  • Composers: They are the people who actually fill the soul in the written lines and make it a song from a mere group of words.
  • Instrumentalist: The tune created by the composers and written by the writers is made real by the instrumentalists who play the various instruments. Thus, the instrumentalists bring in life the composition of the writers and the composers.
  • Singer: A person who sings or gives the beautiful composition their voice, heart, soul and energy are termed as singers. The quality of a singer is as crucial as that of the composition and the lyrics for the song to become a successful and loved song.
  • Conductor: A conductor is the main person who leads the complete group of instrumentalists along with the singers which is also called as the musical ensemble.
