Type of Music

What do you do when you get tired working for hours and just want to relax? The most common answer given by most of you would be to listen to your favorite music for some time and then again get back to your work. There is no specific time for listening to music.

Some of us prefer listening to music while working, exercising etc. Also there are some who like to listen to music during their breaks in order to relax their stressed out minds from their work so that they can again resume their work easily without any problems.

Generally, we just listen to music without thinking much about music and its types. But, theoretically music has been categorized into the following categories which are namely.

  • Classical: Classical music is considered as the purest and original form of music which had originated or has roots into our traditions. People then, would love to listen to this type of music and still believe that any other form of music is just crap. Classical music is very complex, layered beautifully and forms the base for the other types of music. Classical music thus depends on the various countries and the culture.

  • Tribal: Sometimes people confuse the classical music to be similar to that of tribal music. But this is not true as the tribal music had originated even before classical music had originated. Tribal music varies based on the tribes and the country. It is very different from the other types as the instruments used are also very different.

  • Hip-hop: This is the newest type of music consisting of a rhythmic mode of speaking which is called as the rap on the beats of the music. Hip hop culture originated in New York City in the early 1970s and was more predominant amongst the African- Americans.

  • Blues: blues is a music based on a vocal and a number of instruments which create a different type of music. This type of music emerged mainly as a form of self expression in the African-American communities.
  • Rock: it is a type of music that involves different types of music like electric guitar, drums, synthesizers, organ etc. Rock music basically has strong and loud back beats along with the other instruments.

  • Jazz: Jazz is a true American form of music which originated in the early 20th century and is mainly played by the African-American communities which involves all types of emotions in its music.
