Rock & Pop Music
Music is one of the most loved passions amongst a large number of people all around the world. May it be listening to music or playing any of the instruments, people just love music. It not just fades away the problems but also eases you completely from all the tensions and rejuvenates your energy from within.
Of all the types of music, rock and pop music has a completely different approach. Though both rock and pop music are not much different from each other they are still somewhat different in just a few basic things.
Rock music is a popular music which mainly features the vocals, electric guitars, drums for a strong back beat along with the other instruments like the piano, saxophone etc. Rock music has got no boundaries and includes nearly all different distinctly related types of music.
Pop music is also a popular music which also has loosely defined boundaries. Pop music mainly includes the hip-hop, country music, rhythm and blues (R & B) types and the operatic pop and much more.
Rock music is thought to have originated in the period between 1940s and the 1950s.The rock music comprises of rock and roll and the rockabilly which mainly evolved from the country music and blues. Later on in the 1960s, the rock music was further fused with the folk music which created the folk rock and the blues- rock from the mixture of the rock music and the blues.
Later the rock music also was blended with the jazz music which gave rise to jazz rock. In the early 1970s, the rock music was subdivided into number types like the soft rock, heavy metal rock, glam rock, hard rock, punk rock, progressive rock, indie rock etc. Some of the famously known rock bands include The Beatles band, the Rolling stones, U2, Pink Floyd etc.
Pop music originated back in 1679 in a city named Napoli in Italy when the first opera was composed by Alessandro Scarlatti. Later with the fast advances in the technical fields, changes in the pop music also occurred.
Pop music is considered as a beautiful fusion of different styles of music. Pop was blended with all the other types of music to generate the new types of pop music. In the 1950s, the country musicians enhanced their band by adding a different strings section along with a different orchestral unit and a number of chorus singers which made the music more powerful than the other types.
Some of the most loved and famous pop musicians include Michael Jackson, Bee Gees, Madonna, Celine Dion, Backstreet boys, Abba etc.
